The InsureWise Model

InsureWise is exploring a model where drivers can better understand their risk, choose whether to share additional driving data, and see a path toward improvement.

The core hypothesis is simple:

If clearer insight and voluntary participation help reduce risk and losses, the resulting value should benefit both the driver and the insurer.

From Passive Customer to Active Participant

In most insurance relationships, the customer receives a price, pays the premium, renews, and files a claim when something goes wrong.

InsureWise is exploring a more participatory model.

Drivers would be able to understand the major factors affecting their risk, choose whether to share additional driving data, identify what they can improve, and follow their progress over time.

If that participation helps reduce risk and losses, the model is designed around one principle:

The value created should benefit both the driver and the insurer.

The Five-Stage Model

1. Understand your risk

See the major factors affecting your risk—not only the final price.

2. Choose how you participate

Decide whether to share additional driving data to demonstrate how you actually drive.

3. Improve what you can

Identify behaviors you may be able to change and follow your progress over time.

4. Reduce risk

Test whether better information and voluntary participation can encourage lower-risk decisions and fewer losses.

5. Share the value

If lower risk creates measurable economic value, the model should allow both the driver and insurer to benefit.

This is the model the InsureWise MVP is being built to test.

What the MVP Needs to Test

The MVP will not attempt to prove an entire insurance company. It will test the assumptions underneath the model.

We want to learn:

• Can drivers understand the major factors affecting their risk?

• Does clearer guidance help them identify what they can improve?

• Will drivers voluntarily share additional data when they remain in control?

• Does visible progress encourage continued lower-risk behavior?

• What type of benefit would make participation genuinely valuable?

The answers will determine what InsureWise builds next.

Help Us Test the Model

Which part of this model would be most valuable to you—clearer risk insight, control over your driving data, practical guidance, or recognition when your risk improves?

Your perspective will help determine what InsureWise tests and builds first.
